Here's a look at some key areas surrounding the Bills' postseason hunt.
Orchard Park, N.Y. - As the days get colder, the margin for error has increased slightly for bison bills.
At 7-4 and with an 80.6% chance to make the playoffs according to Analytics, the odds are in the team's favor. But the reality of the way this team has been playing, coupled with a lack of answers — seen in the continued loading of the roster with veterans — has left Buffalo in an odd place.
"The urgency is building," coach Sean McDermott said."It's important any time of year, but it's mid-to-late November and you think it's December. ... It's a fun time of year when you're on the hunt."
Hunt took the Bills to Pittsburgh on Sunday (4:25 p.m.), marking Buffalo's third loss on the road this season.
Despite the time, injuries remain a major concern for the Bills, among other areas of concern: road issues, offensive play and the run game. Many of these tough spots will be tested in Week 13 against the Steelers.
Here's a look at some of the key points related to the capture of Poust's bills.
Competition for the playoffs
The Bills can't afford to lose to Pittsburgh. The conference focuses on play-by-play, with 2 New England teams on the AFC's roster and a single conference in Foxbooro.Every win.
The team has already lost once to the Patriots and lost to the Houston Texans (6-5) in Week 12 -- Buffalo is 4-3 against the AFC.A loss to the Steelers (6-5) (a team in contention for a playoff spot) would hurt that record and give Pittsburgh the lead over the Bills in the seeding.
The bill remains difficult.A home game against the current Joe Burrow-Chad Cincinnati Bannitita is coming to New England.Games on the road at the Worveland Browns and at home vs. New Yok JetS Sandwich is a home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.Since 2020, however, no team has had a better regular season percentage in December and January (85.2%).
"We know where we are," the quarterback said."At the same time, we're very confident. ... Ultimately it comes down to game days."
The Bills are 3-4 in their last seven games since starting the year 4-0.Something happened in Buffalo in 2023, losing the third way to harm straight sex partners.
The offense is averaging 32.5 points per home game (fourth in the league). On the road, however, the unit is averaging 23.2 points per game (13th).
It also appears that the two losing teams - the Texans and the Atlanta Falcons - came against teams with good pass rushers. That would only continue against Pittsburgh's T.j.Watt and company.
Wide receiver Birstin Cooks was signed to Active Bath on Tuesday, according to a news release, in a related move.Hopefully the addition of those streams will help improve post-game prevention.Quarterback Troy Ronald Hunter worked with him in New Orleans, so the experience is already there.
“Nice addition,” McDermott said."Go against him at times, always respect his game, have good speed, know how to play the position. Some guys have good speed, but they're not true wide receivers and football players; he's a combination of both."
However, the idea that the 32-year-old will make a noticeable difference in the Bills' offense is unlikely.Cooks had 19 receptions for 165 yards in 10 games with the Saints. He averaged just 6.6 yards per target and was targeted on 9.5% of his routes, well above his previous career low of 16% (2019).His yards per route are also at a career low.(0.63).
Allen, who was with an injury specialist on Wednesday, had the starter for those two games after practice.
Allen asked whether the crime was inconsistent with the fact that drunkenness was necessary.Allen has two straight games with multiple obstacles, along with a large crowd.
“I think most of [the turnovers] were in a one-dimensional situation where they know we're throwing and they can pull their ears back,” Allen said."Obviously the goal is to get up early and stay two-dimensional and be able to keep them on their heels from the start of the game."
The strength of the offense is the running game. With a league average of 147.2 yards per game. However, the two fullbacks will miss this game as left tackle Digdins is in Protocol Protocol and linebacker Spencer Brown will not be able to complete the game against the Texans with a shoulder injury.
The unit will still hope to find a way — with backups Ryan Van Demark and Alec Anderson as replacement candidates — to take advantage of a Steelers defense that has allowed 25 runs of 10-plus yards (tied for 26th).
Running back James Cook III has seven 40-yard rushing touchdowns since the start of 2024 (most in the NFL and tied for most over two seasons).
On the other hand, the Bills' defense continues to search for solutions to a run defense that has given up 5.3 yards per carry (31st).
“We need to do a better job in this game and make sure we control that offensive line early in the game,” defensive coordinator Bobby Babich said.
