It's a rot so bad that not even a $120 million contract can bridge the gap.

Kyle Shanahan didn't have to officially close the door on the 49ers relationship with Brandon Ayuk on Saturday because everyone around the team has felt the tug, bang and cry for a while.

In April of this year, one thousand years, they accounted for 150 million dollars ago, 150 million dollars this year, 15 million dollars this year, 10 million dollars this year.

Ayuk, who tore several tendons in his knee months after signing the contract and others, was mostly quiet and invisible.

It is not uncommon for an athlete to report symptoms to NFLPA officials.

No quick diplomatic calls. There doesn't appear to be much communication between the 49ers and Aiyuk. There doesn't seem to be much interest in communication or diplomacy at this point.

The inevitable parting will come in the spring.

I suspect the 49ers aren't thinking too much about having Ayuk go bye-bye for the last few weeks of this season. And I'm pretty sure Ayyuk's unspoken message tells us he's focused on his inevitable move to the 49ers next offseason, whether it's via trade or simply leaving the 49ers to get the biggest financial help.

Anyone care about what's on the left side of Aiyuk's 49er?No, not really. You don't have a strong opinion about something that's been going on for four months.

"I haven't had any many conversations among me and manner," Saughhana said by his friend and I didn't get ahead at his friends. Therefore, he was aware of the practice and I didn't get to come back. "It was not yet heard back."

The turning point has come and gone. And now we are only concerned with the results and the lessons learned.

It's been five years...

1. In the dramatic litany of WRs, DeVoe Samuel's problems over the last few years were specifically tied to negotiations with the 49ers before he was traded last spring.Ayok's problems seem to have more to do with the fatigue of Shanahan, John Lynch, and the philosophy, offensive system and culture of the 49ers.

It's not like Aiyuk can complain about his contract - he almost got what he wanted last year and still isn't happy with things in general. It's a break so bad that no $120 million contract can bridge the gap.

Maybe trace that back to Aizeuk some seasons back on the depth chart, where Shanahan came from the Dogs and then came back for everyone's good.

He and Shanahan weren't on the same wavelength at the time, and even after Aiyuk's excellent season, they just never clicked.Aiyuk's cryptic complaint about the use of Super Bowl 58 brought more attention.

But Shanahan and Lynn still have Jed York and the Marine Corps to put $120-million on the table. So it's special to Shanahan after Aiyuk's salary, he still doesn't want to go up.Also, signing off on the act, Aiyuk held a different bag in front of the speaker as he changed to the same person he was wearing that day.

There is no direct line from that demonstration to the cancellation of his 2026 money, but the connection is not impossible to make.

"I'm not yet," Shanahan said, noting that he was disappointed with the whole village situation.

2. Both sides have always been on guard in this relationship.

Given the chance to talk trades with other teams during those awkward 2024 talks, Aiyuk is looking into it — specifically eyeing a potential move to the Washington Commanders or Pittsburgh Steelers.I'm sure those two teams will be back in this discussion.Perhaps it was always the case that Ayuk preferred to end up with one of those teams.

Is this a better situation than what he was in with the 49ers? Of course, that's debatable. But that has been evident in his actions over the last few months.

Meanwhile, it appears that 49ers negotiators have included stipulations in the new contract regarding rehabilitation and medical protocols that Ayuk did not follow after his injury.

Marathe is an excellent negotiator. There's no way he's signing a $120 million contract to a mobile player who has no financial or behavioral protections.

Shanahan was asked: Does Ayuk Ayuk even have meetings or rehab?

"Yeah, he missed them," Shanahan said.“There are other people in our team who have missed meetings before, but that has nothing to do with his contract.

So what about July in the office?

"I'm not going to elaborate," Shanahan said."Since July, there's been a lot of things for me that are more business-related, dealing with lawyers and things like that and contracts and things that aren't really my area of expertise."

Result: By the end of this season, the 49ers will have paid about $49 million for the two years of the deal. That's a lot for a healthy total of seven games, but by adding 2026 funds and establishing Aiyuk, the 4mers will be free of the remaining $71.

(Reminder to always state the "actual" guarantees in a reported deal versus the reported value of a contract. Ayock's contract had a reported guaranteed package of about $76 million, but most of that was related to the 2026 option bonus and was not just an injury).

3. His devastating injury only put more distance between Aiuk and the 49ers.

Unless you are very connected to your teammates and coaches, it is easy for any player to get injured and lose touch with the team spirit and everyday.

And Aiyuki is not the most talkative player, maybe one of the quietest players in the locker room.He is an emotional boy and a very popular number; But on the sidelines, Rehabim, a player who entered at least part of the 49ers' prospect, could be isolated.

4. 49ers can go without Aiyak - because of doing the job without him for over a year.

Prinshall Prinsh, Jennings Jaan, Kendrick Bourne and others at TR.George Gindung, Kristian Mcfafaffrey, Kyle Yuszczyk and Brock Persembak. Is this enough? The 49am class doesn't have many people this season, and they're 7-4 with an offense that looks poised to make big numbers.

Was Kittle specifically trying to insinuate that the 49ers offense would be just as good without Aiyuk last Sunday after the blowout win over Arizona? No. Kittle was just saying the 49ers offense is good to carry things for this team.

But yes, while raving about Purdy's return and running through the list of notable contributors, the names Kittle didn't mention are worth noting.

“We're right where we want to be,” Kittle said."Our offense is fundamentally sound — that's where we're going to be. If we can drive the lane, continue to make plays, Kyle has the plan for us. ...

"(I'm going out on Pearsall's Another Second - I want it to be read all week).

5.

The NFL's global financial system is always more cash than the 37 reported money to play with 2025 than they think they have.

They'll actually take a cap hit from the upfront bonus payment boost, but it won't be huge — especially if the 49ers designate Aiyuk as a release after June 1.

What extra money could the 49ers get in the 2026 offseason?Well, last spring they could have landed Davante Adams, who received $26 million in guarantees from the Rams.Or Cooper Kupp, who received $17.5 million in guarantees from the Seahawks.

There will be a lot of stability available in this price range. They did not enter the peace of this market, because they are in their cash spending limits, but they can and should and should spring.

Or they could use the money to buy a veteran pass rusher.Or they could splurge and get a receiver and pass rusher.

The 49ers can afford it.They may also draft a receiver in the first round, which I would expect. They can also be drafted in the third, fourth and fifth rounds.

Maybe the nobal they sign or plan will never be as good as Divuk was two years ago, but then again, there's a good chance the diet won't be.And if he gets there, it won't be with the 49 hours.
