In defiance of her second-day comeback performance, Kai Trump missed the cut in her LPGA debut on Friday.
The granddaughter of President Donald Trump shot a 5-over 75, including four birdies, for the second round of the Annika Tournament at Bilican Golf Club.
"I was definitely very nervous the first day," she said after Friday's round."I think the nerves got the best of me. Today when I came out, I felt very calm and relaxed, to be honest. That's why I played better."
After playing two roundsTrump finished 18-over par, 1-over above expectations, to advance to the tournament. Lynn Grant and Grace Kim tied at 9-under to take the lead in the second round.
In an impressive Friday morning, High School Selinder had four birdies, four bogeys, a double bogey and a triple bogey.

"I did everything I could for this tournament, so I think if you prepare properly the nerves can - I mean they're always going to be there, aren't they? They can soften a bit," he said after missing the cut.
His performance was an improvement on last Thursday's 133 with nine home runs and two home runs, and he was in last place at the end of the day.

Despite her performance, Trump said it was a "great" experience and believes her skills are "at a good level" for her age.
"It's been very clear because I know I've done well, but playing against the best players in the world and staying there or even hitting holes," he said."I feel like my game is in a good place, especially since I'm only in high school."
Trump, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr., said her grandfather gave her advice on how to calm her nerves at a tournament as she entered the first round.
"My grandfather told me to go out and have fun. Don't be afraid. Try not to be," he said.
