Arlington - Cowboys student and general manager Jesus Jones is the team that made White Night viral
Speaking Monday afternoon on the Stephen A. Smith show on SiriusXM, Jones did not elaborate on what the team acquired because no official documents were delivered to the company office.
Jones also said the team is trying to make two other trades.
The NFL trade deadline is 3 p.m.Sixth.
"There's a lot of action going on right now in terms of trades. We've definitely done one trade and we might do a couple before that deadline," Jones said."We did one. We may do two more, and I'll wait and read about that when we file the papers tomorrow."
Several key NFL players are on the trade market, according to various media outlets, which could make sense for the Cowboys as they look for upgrades on defense.
Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby was a big name on the trade market, but last week the team told him he would not be traded.
Crosby's teammate, edge rusher Malcolm Coons, is another player on the market.Dolphins edge rusher Bradley Chubb and outside linebacker Matthew Judan are also up.The team is also asking about Jets linebacker Jermaine Johnson.
Before the Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Packers, Jones called Jets owner Woody Johnson to ask about the availability of defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, but was told he wasn't available.
Teams also inquired about Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson and linebacker Logan Wilson.Titans defensive end Arden Key, linebacker Dre'Mont Jones and defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat could also be traded.
“Right away he would put them on the field. And he will address some of the things that were our shortcomings,” Jones said when asked who the Cowboys had acquired in discussions with Smith and Cowboys Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin.
In his no-nonsense response, Jones also talked about how a potential trade would help the defense.
"You have homework and you're doing your homework and you're all nodding, you know what we're talking about. Now if sometimes you want to go out and just make a big play and quit your homework, what does that do to everybody else?"
"What a dangerous path," said Cowboys Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, who was also at the exhibit.
"Vulnerably and generally it's going to create a negative thing for the Dallas Cowboys," Jones continued."We're trying to get a player and have players where they can get in the right place. It seems easy. You say, 'My God, they're pros. They've got to be in the right place.' It's not as easy as it seems. But we're there, so I think we can improve."
