SEATTLE — In a Seattle Seahawks victory with multiple defensive touchdowns, three goal-line stops, five punts, 10 assists, several explosive offensive plays and a 22-point margin, the most impressive sequence might have occurred in a series that ended with a field goal.

Then came the third drive of the half, Seattle leading 38-15 with 4:32 left in the third quarter at their 8-yard line.The Seahawks split 22 personnel (two running backs, two tight ends) with running back Robbie Ouzts on the field and Darnold under center.Zach Charbonnet went to the right, cut, passed several defenders and galloped 30 yards.

The Seahawks deserve the right to call themselves elite.They have the league's best receiver, Smith-Njigba, who had 93 yards and a touchdown on Sunday.He is the first player with over 1,000 receiving yards (1,041 to be exact) this season and is still on track to break the NFL single-season record.The secret sauce to Darnold's effectiveness this season has been his pass protection, and that unit was once again skillful Sunday.Darnold was sacked only once.He mocked the play, but admitted after the game that he should have gotten rid of the ball before defensive end Josh Sweat knocked it out of his hands.
