Defensive Rookie of the Year finalist Nick Emmanwori suffered an ankle injury during a Seattle Seahawks practice four days before the Super Bowl.

There is some unwelcome injury news for the Seattle Seahawks just four days before the Super Bowl.

Rookie safety Nick Emmenvory was limited Wednesday after suffering an ankle injury during practice.

ESPN's Kalyn Kaler, Seahawks Practice Correspondent for the Pro Football Writers of America, wrote that Emmanwori practically injured himself while defending a pass and walking off the field by himself.Kaler wrote that "several players and coaches stopped by to console him before he left."

Emmenvory missed nearly a month into the season after suffering an ankle injury in Week 1.

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald addressed Emmanwori's condition after Wednesday's practice.

“He had a sprained ankle today, we brought him in to get it looked at and we'll kind of go from there and figure out what the next steps are,” McDonald said.

Emmanwori, a second-round pick out of South Carolina, is a finalist for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award, which will be presented at the NFL Honors, which airs at18.00.Thursday on NBC, NFL Network and Peacock.
