Staff Predictions: Florida State Seminoles vs.NC State Wolf Pack

FSU's Micahi Danzy's 22.70 yards per catch is No. 2 nationally and tops in the ACC

Florida (5-5, 2-ACT) leads the All-Time Series with NC 27-16, with 11 Wins in Raleigh and 19-12 From FSU Participated in the Acc of the CACM season. However, nc has won their last three games, with Florida, Florida and the last five meetings. The Seminoles since 2015 are in 2019. The Wolfpack is outscored 85-17 in the first half of the last nine games.

NC State has won 31 of its last 39 games at Carter-Finley Stadium, and 10 of its previous Nov. 13 home games, tied for the most November home wins in the ACC dating back to the 2020 season. That includes the Wolfpack's upset of eighth-ranked Georgia Tech on Nov. 1, in which sophomore quarterback CJ Bailey had 374 total yards, threw for 2 touchdowns and rushed for another.Bailey, from Chaminade-Madonna High, is listed at 6'6" and 213, has thrown 19 TDs, the third-best mark in the ACC and 19th in the FBS. His 2,531 passing yards in 2025 are third in the ACC and 20th in the FBS.

NC State is the only school in the power that holds the pointer with 20 or more catchers in 202 years, and Wesley Jackson (20), along with RB Hollywood Smothers (30), along with Mark. All seven of them have scored at least one goal. The tight end, who named Mackinist last week's Semifinalist award, was the Wolfpack's leading receiver with 37 yards. He ranked fifth among P4 Hitters with 4.1 catches per game.

Redshirt sophomore Hollywood Smothers led the ACC in rushing most of the season before an injury sidelined him against Georgia Tech and limited him against Miami. He currently ranks second in the ACC in rushing with 91.4 yards per game and 20th in the nation.Redshirt freshman running back Jayden "Duke" Scott got the start against GT with Smothers out and ran for 196 yards on the night against the Yellow Jacket defense.

Linebacker and team captain Caden Firth of Firth of Fordham will provide all the energy. He led or tied for the team with six single-digit tackles and 15 tackles against Airginia Tech and Georgia Tech.

Trivia: Fordham's father, Todd, was a four-year starter as an offensive lineman for FSU and started 36 consecutive games during the 1994-96 season. As a Junior in 1995, he allowed no sacks or pressures all year. Before moving on to monitor the last two competitions. He contributed one basket and 30 blocks in his senior season, earning second-team honors.

According to Fanduel, Florida State is a 4.5-point favorite out of 71.5 points.

While we are waiting for the kickoff, there is a sound from the highlight of WorU and the last WUU in NC state in 2019, the Winnd Win Napi mil WSUD's Liam FSU.

I don't think the NC situation is very good. But Florida's current situation suggests it can win a road game, and Carter-Finley Stadium has been a surefire home for the Seminoles.Given the inconsistency of the road, I'm still in the "I'll believe I can win a road game when I see it" field. And given the sheer inconsistency of the season, it seems fitting that bowl eligibility comes down to the final game of the season with a loss on Friday night.

NC State 28, Florida State 24

- NoleThruandThru (sezonrekordo: 3-7)

Carter-Finley is the home of horrors for the former Soviet Union on Thursday and Friday, neither good nor bad.I can't stand Dave Deeren or fans throwing Ziplock bags full of urine.I said I wouldn't pick FSU again for another season after that scary loss at Stanford, so I'm expecting a double whammy.

NC State 28, FSU 24

- Matt Minnick (Season record: 4-6; 6-4 ATS)

I was confident the Noles would be a good team at home this year and beat VT (again, averaging 20 minutes a game in Miami).Unfortunately, Florida State has been just as bad on the road.turns out to be seriously worse. To make matters worse, Carter-Finley Stadium is a house of horrors for branded teams.Sure enough, my boy Curt Cignetti said, "This team has never played at Carter-Finley," before Indiana won in Happy Valley for the first time.

What about real teams?NC State started the year 3-0 with solid wins over ECU, UVA and Wake Forest.Since then, Mr. and Mrs. Woof have crashed their car into a ditch, and since September 20 they have gone 2-5, with one of those two wins coming to Campbell.Another?A 48-36 home win over Georgia Tech, exactly the kind of upset against Carter Finley I mentioned.NCSU's problem during those 2-5 stretches has been defense.Over the last 4 games, they gave up an average of 41.5 points. It would seem that this is bad news against one of the best offensive units in the country in the territory of the former USSR.But on the road, FSU's offense put a lot of yards on the scoreboard but no points. So far, the trend of the season is your friend.

NC State 30, Florida State 20

- Jordan Silversmith (Season Record: 5-5)

I agree with the above position;nothing proves that FSU can drive on the road.See if you can spot the trend here: In FSU's road loss to Virginia, the Noles scored 0 points in the 1st quarter. In FSU's road loss to Stanford, the Noles scored 0 points in the 1st quarter. In FSU's road loss to Clemson, the Noles scored in the first quarter.Scored 0 points in 1. Not being ready to play has been a trend all season, which increased on the road and worsened with a short week.

I imagine Florida State will score points and feed Duke Robinson.I also don't think the pass defense will slow down NCSU QB CJ Bailey very well.In the end, this game comes down to confidence, and nothing gives me confidence that Florida State can do it yet.

NCSU 38, FSU 31

- Jacob Smith (season record: 6-1)

Should be a very winnise game. Buuuuut ... We haven't played a road game since 2023. I don't expect this year to do anything good on the road, not in NC state and especially in Florida. It's for those reasons, and beyond NC State playing football (see: Minus VT), I can't help but think it's another move for Florida State. And they will be lost again.

Nc State 31, FSU 28

- Tim Scribble (Season Record: 5-5)

Short weekend, night game at Carter-Finley - We've seen tonight play out in years past. Will FSU struggle in its bid to award Bowel? Can NC State Quarterback CJ Bailey keep the defense on the field for a long drag-and-drop?Will we also see a free and heavy man losing his mind in the bases?

I think there's a good chance we'll go 3/3 on this question.

NC State is 28, FSS is 27

- Frank Denoll (Subject: 5-5)

If DC Tony White can come up with a defense that can contain NC's running game, this game could be trashed by the middle of the 4th quarter. You also need to make sure someone is accountable for the tight end.If the defense can't stop his play, it could turn into a shootout, which I think FSU will still win.

At the end of the night, FSU will be bowl eligible while the Wolfpack will not.Nole players and fans need to be aware of North Carolina State fans' love of urinating in plastic bags and tendency to throw them at their opponents.

FSU Seminels 38, Wolverines 24

- Perry Kostidakis (Season Record: 4-6, 4-6 ATS)

It's a shame that a win here won't be another feather in the cap of a true bounce-back season, considering how hard it was to win in Raleigh, and could instead be written off as another "what if," but it would at least bring FSU back up to the level of preseason expectations. In a game flagged as a potential upset before the season even started, the stakes are high for Florida State -- first and foremost, bowl eligibility, snapping a losing streak against NC State and picking up its first road win in two years.

With arguably the healthiest team since the start of the season, Florida State is in a good place to overcome all of those aforementioned bumps. The Friday aspect of the game doesn't put me off too much - it's more the away factor.Florida State has clearly shown an inability to set the tone early, even in home games, and Carter-Finley Stadium is unforgiving. What helps at least is that outside of their upset of Georgia Tech, NC State hasn't been particularly good.Only one loss (to Virginia Tech) was by less than 12 points, but two (45-33 at Duke) by less than 20. Even though Florida State had a similarly ranked season, advanced stats still show the Seminoles closer to 7-3 than their actual 5-5 record, with the Wolfpack's profile more in line with what's reflected.
