The Bills quarterback and former head coach may not have the best relationship.
The Buffalo Bills continue their search for a head coach after moving on from Sean McDermott after another one-point playoff loss, many protesting, while others believe it was long overdue.
Go Long's Tyler Dunn revealed on the Jim Rome Show that the relationship between McDermott and quarterback Josh Allen isn't great.
"It's not toxic," Dunne said."It's not like Josh Allen and Sean McDermott are in the wrestling weight room and they save each other. It's not bad. But the relationship is not good, either. I've talked to players, coaches, people who are around this power, and it's something that hasn't been talked about, written about a lot, but I've heard something like that."
Dunne added that after the 13-second loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, McDermott was not responsible.
"Sean McDermott doesn't take responsibility for [the 13-second game loss]," Dunn said. "He turned down special teams coordinator Heath Farwell, who wanted a squib. Sean said, 'Go back.'" Leslie Frazier took the play call.what's happening here.'"
Dunn goes on to say that owner Terry Pegula and general manager Brandon Bee needed to run the team through Josh Allen - something McDermott disagreed with.
"I feel that when the numbers changed and Terry Pegula the owner, Brandon Beane the GM, the scouts, the coaches, the players all realized that the job had to go through Josh Allen. Like, this is the center of your universe - Sean McDermott didn't get on board with it. He believed that the team flowed to him [and] his culture.
Now that McDermott is gone, the Bills need to go home with their next head coach, and that coach will need to bring immediate success.
