Latitude "Miracle on Ice" Mike Eruzione took to social media on Saturday to tease American skier Hunter Hess, commenting on the Olympics by cursing Team USA.

Mike Arozione, the U.S. Olympic gold medalist who played a key role in the team's 1980 "Miracle on Ice" moment, criticized Team USA's forward skater Hunter Hess on Saturday.

Eruzione responded to Hess' controversial comments about the United States representing the United States on the world stage at this year's Olympics.Hess, along with colleague Chris Lillis, expressed dissatisfaction with wearing the American flag amid controversy over the Trump administration's use of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Eruzione later deleted the post.

Lillis and Hess' statements sparked significant backlash on social media.

Lillis said she was "heartbroken" by the administration's actions when she did not want to represent another country at the games.

"I love the United States. I would never want to represent another country at the Olympics. However, many times athletes are hesitant to talk about political views and how we feel about things.

"I'm heartbroken by what's going on in the United States. I'm sure you mentioned ICE and some of the protests and things like that," he continued.

Hayes echoed that sentiment, but took it a step further, saying he had "mixed feelings" about representing the United States at the Games.

"I think representing the U.S. has mixed emotions right now. It's a little difficult. Obviously, there's a lot of things I'm not the biggest fan of, and I think a lot of people aren't.

"I think, for me, I mostly represent my friends and family at home, who have represented before me, everything that I think is good about the United States. If it is consistent with my moral values, I feel that I represent. Just because I wear the flag does not mean that I represent everything that happens in the United States.
