No.1 Michigan is uninstalled.Immediately after they won the ranking no.1 in the AP Poll for the first time since 2013 — and have now been named the No. 1 seed by the NCAA Tournament — the Wolverines will likely cede the top spot to Duke.
The third-ranked Blue Devils are a very good team, and freshman forward Cameron Boozer is the best player Michigan has faced this season.Don't be disheartened by the group that may now have agreed No.1 in the entire country.
Here are five takeaways from the Duel in the District.
Lundberg, the despicable youngster.
Lendeborg dominated the first game. But Lendeborg's quick start and his game proved to be a scam.On the contrary, what came out of a lot of defensive play was Boozer, who proved his mettle in the crucial minutes of the game.
Boozer scored the Blue Devils' final seven points before Isaiah Evans' scoreless goals.
Instead, 15 of Lendeborg's 21 points came in the game's first 10 and a half minutes.Lendeborg hit a three to bring the Wolverines within one, 57-56, with less than four to play, but Duke made a concerted effort to limit his scoring output for most of the game.
"No, I still had the same look I had in the first half. They weren't falling," Landeborg said."Normally, especially this game, I tried to set the tone early, just try to impose my will on them and make it easy for the guys in the second half. But yeah, it was the same chance, I just didn't take it in the second half.
