Cowboys' Jerry Jones avoids direct answer to Trayvon Diggs' family incident
"He said what happened, and I'm not saying it didn't happen. But a lot of times, you're not the best spectator of what happened to you."
ARLINGTON, TX.Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs suffered a concussion in a crash at his home Thursday night, but details about how it happened remained unclear Sunday.
At the news of the crash, head coach Brian Schotinheimer said the team was still "gathering information."Schompottheimer asked if there was more information after Washington's Week 7 win over the Washington Cardinals.
"No, not yet," Schottenheimer said.
However, Dallas owner and general manager Jerry Jones spoke directly with Diggs about what happened, but Jones may not fully believe Diggs knows exactly what happened.
"I don't know what happened, and I'm not saying it didn't happen, but a lot of times, you're not a good observer of what happens to you. ... Yeah, no, I [what Diggis said,]," Jones said postgame Sunday.
The bottom line from Dallas is that Diggs' injury was a "fluke situation."The Cowboys also expect Diggs to come up short after missing Year 7.
"It was an unexpected situation. I don't expect Trevon to be around much longer," Jones said.
"Yeah, I am a trevon fan," said zanteenerary."I'm excited to get it back, and hopefully it won't be too long."
