How their free agency Tuesday will affect the Patriots roster.

4 wins and losses from signing Patriots Romeo Doubs

The second day of the NFL trade window brought just one addition to the New England Patriots. But it was a significant move, as they agreed to terms with wide receiver Romeo Doubs on a four-year contract.

With Doubs now in the fold, here's a look at who was most affected by the move, both positively and negatively.

QB Drake May: After addressing a hole on the offensive line Monday night, New England added May as its first pass catcher.Doubs is an upgrade from the Patriots' current pass-catching group and will likely take on some of the responsibilities Stefon Diggs handled last season. And at 25, Dobbs and May have a chance to grow together during the receiver's prime years.

OC Josh McDaniels: Doubs spent most of his time (82%) in Green Bay's offense. However, he has been one of the most effective receivers in limited action out of the slot and works well in the middle of the field – making him a good fit in the Patriots' Z/slot role as well.

New England already saw Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins and Kyle Williams provide similar inside-outside versatility last season. With Doubs' talent added, this group will give McDaniels plenty of options to mix and match different personnel groups to hunt each other down.

Red Zone Offense The Patriots' red zone offense was mostly mediocre last season, finishing the regular season with 57% of their trips (17th).In the postseason, they converted just one-third of their red-zone trips into points.Dablar will help change that, as his 6-foot-6 frame, strong hands and offensive ability have made him a consistent red-zone threat during his four years in the league.

TBD: The aforementioned versatility that Dobbs brings to the table makes it difficult to predict a specific wide receiver who will see a decrease in playing time and targets.Dobbs will play more than 55% of the snaps that Diggs played last season, but New England will continue to rotate at his position because they need a different skill set (such as Kyle Williams' speed and verticality).

However, the addition of Doubs will knock others down the depth chart and cost the team a roster spot in the long run.
